A Hair Growth Miracle

Exactly 5 weeks ago I went to a hair salon to get my hair dyed and trimmed. Neither had turned out exactly how I had planned them too. My hair went a little more red and a little bit more then I wanted was cut off. My dye faded quite quickly but the length was another story. Being someone who loves long hair I went on a rapid search to find something that would make my hair grow. Needless to say I found such a product that does the trick!

Hair Fertilizer by Organic Root Stimulator ($9.49) is the product I ended up purchasing. It is a nourishing product that is meant to help the scalp. By helping the scalp you are helping the area where your hair grows from. It helps your hair grow and also grow stronger. It is meant for people who have chemically damaged hair, hair loss, or just want to maintain there current length hair. Not only do I put this in my roots, but, I also apply it to all my hair to help add thickness. I apply it at night, sleep in it, and wash it out in the morning. I would not recommend putting this in during the day because it's fairly greasy.

My hair on July 10/12
5 weeks ago my hair was above my shoulder.

My hair today

Now my hair is about 3 inches below my shoulder, after using Hair Fertilizer about 4 nights a week.

The Lazy Girls Beauty Guide

You know those days when you really don't feel like doing anything? Well here are a few tips to make you look a little bit more put together on those lazy days :)

1) Want to add a bit of colour to your face? Try using a 2 in 1 product like Stila Convertible Colour or Benefit Lip and Cheek Tints. These products are 2 in 1 and apply colour to both lips and cheeks. Easy for any girl who is running late or doesn't want to use too many different products!

2) No time to wash your hair? Use a dry shampoo or baby powder to make it look and feel cleaner.

3) No time to curl your hair? Try using a wave or sea salt spray after you've washed your hair. It gives your hair the perfect "beach wave" look!

4) Don't have time to wait for a tan? Try using a one day instant tanner. You'll have a beautiful tan for where ever you need to go that day! My favourite is Sally Hanson Airbrush Legs!

5) No time to do your eye makeup? Try using a cream shadow. It gives you a nice wash of colour and is effortless. My favourites are Mac Paint Pots, Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadows or Maybelline Colour Tattoos!

Things You Can Do Today To Get Healthy

We all need a little push in the right direction sometimes. Here are a couple tips of things that you can start today to help you become a little bit more healthy!!

1. Drink more water: water helps to hydrate your body making you look and feel healthier. It also has great affects on the hair, nails and skin!

2. Eat more fruits and veggies: This one is hard for me being a junk food lover. However adding a couple handfuls of fruit into your cereal or with your eggs in the morning and having a salad with dinner is a great start!

3. Sign up for a gym: The best way to start exercising is to actually sign up. Maybe ever get a trainer if that will get you more motivated!

4. Walk to places instead of drive: Obviously this is if you can. But why drive or take a bus down the road if you can walk? It helps you to get more active and you can enjoy the sun too!

5. Do at home exercises: Before bed or in the morning try doing some things you can do from home. For example, sit ups, the plank, push ups, etc.

Haul: Sephora, Mac, Nail Polish and Perfume

Hi guys this is just going to be a quick blog post on some beauty items i've picked up recently!

As you can see I have finally given in and gotten myself the Naked Palette by Urban Decay. I figured it was time and I'm glad I did. The colours are gorgeous. The Naked Palette also comes with a mini (3.7 ml) Primer Potion which is an eyeshadow base. They help to make shadows last longer and appear more vibrant. I also picked up St Tropez Gradual Tanner. This is to be used every day as a moisturizer. I had to get a back up Nars Laguna Bronzer as mine is almost out. This is my all time favourite bronzer.  I was contemplating trying a different but decided against it last minute. I also picked up the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour full coverage foundation. I am in the shade Light 4. This foundation also has SPF 15 which is great for summer time. From MAC I picked up two eyeshadows. The first is "Wood winked", a bronzy shade, and secondly "All That Glitters", a perfect "barely there" shade. Both shadows are veluxe pearls. I have finally brought myself to buy Dolce and Gabbana's "Light Blue." This is quickly becoming my favourite perfume! As for nail polish I got O.P.I's "Do you Lilac It?" a pretty lilac (obviously) shade. From Essie I got "Instant Hot" A pretty white with flecks of shimmer. And lastly from China Glaze I got "Flip Flop Fantasy" A nice pink colour for my toes!

Products I Regret Buying

Ok so todays blog is going to be about products I regret buying. I don't have too many because I usually do a ton of research before purchasing any products.

1. Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blushes: While the IDEA of this product is amazing and innovative, the product itself is anything but. I got mine in the shade "Pink Frosting" beautiful colour, however the pigmentation and application of this blush really are not great. However the blush is fun to play with!

2. Hard Candy Sheer Envy Tinted Moisturizer: The main reason I dislike this product is because all of the shades for this tinted moisturizer are targeted at people with yellow undertones, which I don't have. However, if you do and are looking for a tinted moisturizer this one works great!

3. Nars Cream Blush in "Enchanted": I am a HUGE Nars fan, however, this blush is just....weird. It's basically orange with huge flecks of glitter. When applied to the cheeks it just looks like glitter.

Hopefully this helps you all to save some money and avoid these products! xoxo

Current Beauty Favorites

Want to know what I have been loving recently? Here are my current favourites!

1. Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque: This masque is intended for reconstructing dry, damaged hair. It is a natural mask that contains Macadamia, Argan, tea tree and chamomile oils along with aloe and algae extracts. It is a thick masque that is meant to be left in your hair for up to 7 minutes. Along with working great it also smells amazing! Retails for $32 Canadian.

2. Okrapeptide: This is a product that I discovered recently. It is a serum that acts as an alternate to Botox injections. It helps to diminish the appearance of folds, wrinkles and fine lines. I'm planning on doing a more in depth review on this product. Retails for $42.99 Canadian.

3. Urban Decay All Nighter Long-lasting Makeup Setting Spray: Because it's summer, I bought this product to help ensure that my makeup does not melt off in the heat. This product is supposed to make your makeup last for 16 hours. Although I usually don't have my makeup on for that long I can say that it hasn't failed me for the length of time I do wear my makeup. Two sprits usually does the trick for me, the product says that you should spray between two and four sprits. A good hint with this product however is to make sure you only spray your face makeup. Otherwise it can get messy! Retails for $29 Canadian.

4. L'Oreal Paris Carbon Black Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner: This is by far my favourite liquid liner. Even better then some of the higher end brands I have purchased. It gives the blackest, most precise line I have ever witnessed with any liner i've ever tried. Retails $12.99 Canadian.

5. MAC Lipstick in "To Catch A Sailor": This lipstick is from MAC's "Hey Sailor" Collection. This colour is a bronzy, sort of shimmery colour which is not something I would usually go for. However, I feel like this colour really bronzes up the face and looks amazing on my skin tone! Retails for $20 Canadian.

6. Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Color in "Pacific Blue": Ok, ok so I realize I just made a blog post about my favourite nail polishes this summer but I just came across this shade after I made that post. This colour is absolutely gorgeous and I think its name suits it perfectly. But i'll let the picture do all the talking with this one! Retails $5.99 Canadian.

7. Burberry "Weekend" Perfume: This has been my go to perfume for the past couple months. It is the perfect relaxing scent that is great for day or night. The top notes include mandarine and grassy notes, the middle notes include blue hyacinth, iris, nectarine, peach flower, red cyclamen and wild rose and the end notes include sandalwood, cedar and musk. I got mine for $19.99 on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart.

Hopefully this post has helped you find some new products you might want to try! xoxo

Simple Beauty Tips

Like most girls I love learning new and easy beauty tips with things we can find at home, or, making our routine faster and easier. Here I'll share with you a few tips I've discovered over the years which help keep my bank account bigger and the amount of time I spend getting ready smaller.

1. If you are looking for a hair mask to add moisture into you hair try using mayonnaise or an avocado. Both are proven to help bring moisture into your hair leaving it soft and shiny. What ever is left over of the avocado can be made into a face mask!

2. If you are someone who loves hair masks (or wants to try a homemade one), after its been put in your hair blow dry it. This opens up the cortex of your hair and helps the mask moisturize from the inside out.

3. It's summer time and that usually means frizzy hair (if you are anything like me). Running a dryer sheet though your hair before you leave the house helps reduce frizz for the entire day.

4. Want a homemade microdermabrasion? Try mixing two parts baking soda with one part warm water and mix, then apply to skin. This works wonders and is almost like going to your dermatologist, except for MUCH less money.

5. No time to go get your eyebrows done? No worries, apply concealer underneath your brows (or where ever there is unwanted hair) and then apply a powder over top. Your brows will look like you just got them done!

6. Drinking a glass over water with lemon 30 minutes before eating helps ensure that you won't bloat for the entire day!

7. If you're at the beach or pool and your hair is starting to looks a little dull and lifeless, apply dry shampoo. It'll bring back body and volume to your hair.

Hopefully you enjoy my beauty tips. I'll continue to share more as I continue to learn some!

Summer Nail Trends

Summer is a great time to spice things up with your nail polish. My favorite summer nail trends are neons and brighter, more fun colors then what I would typically wear in the fall or winter. China Glaze's 'Pool Party' is my all time favorite neon shade. I got mine at a local beauty boutique for $6.49. Essie's 'Tart Deco' is an amazing coral-orange shade. Essie's 'Peach Daiquiri' is one of my all time favorite shades, although the name can be deceiving it is definitely more of a pink then a peach. 'Bikini So Teeny' is from Essie's Summer 2012 collection, it is a beautiful blue color with flecks of silver shimmer. My current obsession is 'A Crewed Interest' also by Essie. It is a matte peach color. Lastly by Essie is'Mojito Madness' is a lime green, that fits its name perfectly. All Essie polish is retailed at $11.99 and can be found at any drugstore. 'Barracuda' by Sally Hansen is a beautiful baby blue with a hint of turquoise it retails for $7.99 available at any drugstore. And for my final nail pick 'Charming' by Revlon is matte lilac that retails for $5.99, as well available at drugstores. Have fun with your summer polish and remember that the perfect polish can make any outfit!

A Foundation For Night?!

BareMinerals has recently come out with a ground breaking new product... foundation for night time use. It is activated with RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex. As skeptical as I was at first I decided to purchase this product just to see what a foundation you wear at night can really do for you. The product suggests that it helps to reduce pores, increase skins luminosity and deliver a faster cell turnover and it is to be used as the last step in your night time routine. For the 2 weeks that I have been using this product I have noticed a difference in how my skin looks and feels. After I wash it off in the morning my skin looks more radiant. I would definitely recommend this product to a friend. The retail cost is $85 Canadian and it comes in four different shades (translucent, light, medium and tan). Your skin will thank you when you're 50!
